Solace Women’s Aid is a London based charity working primarily with women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence. The organisation has grown significantly over the last few years and we are keen to recruit 3 talented members to join our active and committed Board of Trustees.

We are seeking candidates with a wide range of experience and ethnic backgrounds. In particular, we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate strategic leadership within the charitable sector, safeguarding experience, and/or clinical expertise.

Successful candidates will be required to attend 4 board meetings and two away days each year as well as participate on a board sub-committee. Trustees can claim reasonable out-of-pocket and travel expenses but are not otherwise remunerated.

Salary: Voluntary

Family Support Worker

Solace Women’s Aid are dedicated to providing a full range of services for women and their children, enabling them to live lives free from domestic and sexual violence. We are looking for experienced and flexible staff to provide individual and group support to children/young people (0-16 years) and their parents/carers living in our refuges/recently resettled.

You will be working with a service user group in a multi racial setting. You will be joining a welcoming and supportive team of professionals and will benefit from ongoing supervision, training and professional development. All staff will undergo an Enhanced CRB clearance check.

You will have experience in undertaking observations and completing assessments of children and/or families needs, networking and liaising with services to facilitate support to families. This post will also require experience of planning and delivering group work support to children, young people and/or family groups.

Salary: £23,970 (unqualified), £25,455 (social work qualification)

Hours: 37.5 per week

Contract: Permanent

Location: Barnet

Solace Refuge Services – LB Islington

Team Leader

Solace Women’s Aid works with women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence.  We work in a holistic and empowering way enabling service users to live independent lives.

You will be responsible for leading a staff team of approximately eight individuals across two refuges.

We are looking to appoint someone with extensive experience of working with vulnerable people, some of which will have been with women affected by domestic and/or sexual violence. The person we are looking for will also have experience of refuge provision, operational experience of need and risk assessment tools and the ability to provide leadership and direction.

Hours: (37.5 hours per week)

Salary: £30,345 pa plus 3% pension contribution and other benefits

Contract:  Permanent
