Helping us raise funds
There are fundraising events throughout the year from live music gigs, film evenings, pampering events and charity sales. If you can’t attend, please tell your friends about us or send a donation instead to show your support – make a donation and change a life today.
Solace’s Fundraising Committee is a dynamic group of volunteers who organise a range of events to raise money for our services. We are indebted to them for their time, energy, skills and expertise.
On the 13th Nov 2014, the Fundraising Committee ran our annual Rock Against Violence event which raised a record £22,000 this year from tickets, raffles and silent auction. “A truly spectacular show of support and stunning performances from all the bands have helped this year to be our best yet,” Mary Mason CEO. We thank all those who came, took part or supported this event: presenter Tom Du Croz and the 4 fantastic bands (We Used To Make Things, The Fourfits, Beatrix Players and DB Cohen); and the companies and individuals who contributed to the silent auction and raffle including stella & dot and Hotel Chocolat. Other fundraising events
Last Christmas many committed supporters raised funds in aid of Solace at events across London. A huge thank you to all their dedication and support, as without them we could not have been able to provide the refuge or support needed to keep these venerable women and children safe. Below is just a taste of the work from our avid supporters:
* Carols rang out of Warren Street tube station as supporters gathered to raise their voices for Solace. Their collection buckets jingled as they filled with £114.01 before the day was out.
* A huge thank you to Asalet too, who created a splash at the Bears Head Rowing race. Spectators lined up to cheer her to the finish line, as she raised £350 for Solace.
* Our supporters were full of festive cheer as they battled it out for prizes at Solace’s end of year quiz and raffle fundraiser. There were a vast selection of prizes on offer, kindly donated from a variety of generous sources. The prizes ranged from a Ricoh printer to a Nokia Microsoft Lumia 635 Smartphone, with a parade of chocolate and beauty products wrapped up in between. An enormous thank you to all the participants as Solace went away with £360 from the day’s events.
