Business as Usual - With a little extra care!

Solace Women's Aid is very grateful to Nailgirls in Islington who approached us to offer complimentary treatments to some of the women we work with. Nailgirls is a new salon in Islington providing manicures and pedicures for women in a variety of colours using their own excellent product range. Nailgirls is an active local business who also support us through fundraising initiatives.

To celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th Nail Girls are giving a percentage of sales of our signature colour nail polishes in their excellent colour range for teh whole month of March.  Polishes can be bought from the salon or on line and cost £10 each. See the wesbite address below for the full range.

We were delighted when Jo at Nailgirls called us because the women we provide services for have been through so much and are mostly on benefits so simply don't have the income for treats like this for themselves.  A chance for some pampering can really help as domestic violence so often destroys confidence and undermines self esteem.

And the Band Played On......................

Solace Women's Aid would like to thank local bands Penny Black Remedy, Mothers of Memphis and Shabby Rogue who played a live charity gig for us earlier this year.

The gig raised money for the women and children in our refuges in Camden and helps with refurbishment for the refuge and outings for mothers and children.  It is always difficult to raise funds for services to maintain all the services we provide so all the extra support we get from local groups is very well received.

The evening was a great success and the audience danced and sang the night away all for a good cause.  Each band has a different sound ranging from Balkan country punk to indie rock and new albums on the horizon.  For further information and details of their next live performances check each of the bands out at myspace.

Thanks also to the venue, The Spice of Life in Soho for donating the venue free of charge.

Rock 'n' Roll and thanks for the support.............
