Life Skills
What is Life Skills?
Life Skills are skills we use everyday. All of us have some skills we are good at and some we find more difficult. Life Skills can include
DIY
healthy eating
confidence building
basic computer skills
time management
filling in job applications
healthy and positive relationships
going for job interviews
being assertive
What is the Life Skills Project?
Our life skills project aims to empower and inform women to improve and build on the skills they already have so you can make real choices about your life. The course is designed around their needs and one to one support is available.
Each life skill course offers 12 weekly sessions, delivered in a group setting. Each session is 3 hours long. A free crèche for children under school age, lunch and travel expenses are provided.
Who is it for?
The life skills project is for women currently using other Solace Women's Aid services.
Who are the workers?
We have one full time Life Skills Co-ordinator.
All the trainers are female and are mostly staff members working for SWA who are experts in their field.
How do I contact Life Skills?
The Life Skills programme is open to all current Solace Women’s Aid service users.
