I am the Head of Multiple Disadvantage at Solace where I oversee our services that support women experiencing VAWG and multiple disadvantage. At Solace we have outreach multiple disadvantage services and accommodation based multiple disadvantage services. All of our multiple disadvantage services are trauma-informed and person-centred, and I am so proud to be part of these projects that support women who have often not had the opportunity to engage with the right support for them. Our focus is building a relationship with the women we support and shining a light on the magic we see in them, once a positive relationship has been built, and there is trust we are able to use our support and advocacy skills to support the women gain some stability, and achieve their goals.
I was the Service Manager for one of Solace’s multiple disadvantage services for over 3 years before stepping into this role.
Before working for Solace I worked for a number of years in the youth sector, originally as an outreach worker supporting young women affected by gangs and sexual violence, and then as a Team Leader and Project Manager for the same Project.
