I am the Deputy Head of Children and Young People services and designated safeguarding lead of CYP at Solace. I oversee a portfolio of four very different CYP services such as our crisis intervention advocacy work in Major Trauma Centres, to Specialist Family support project which supports educating mothers and children in our accommodation services about the impact of trauma they experienced, as well as our Early intervention and prevention team, which provides a whole school approach in Haringey primary and secondary schools through education on root causes and strands of VAWG as well as our specialist Courageous project, which supports young girls from BME background impacted by abuse.
I am trained social worker with more almost 25 years of working and supporting CYP who experienced trauma and abuse in various settings in Slovenia and UK. I joined Solace in 2011 as a Family support worker and continue being part of the organisation as I believe in the work we do, especially seeing the difference we are making in the lives of CYP and families we support.
I am super passionate in prevention strain of work as I think if we want to eradicate VAWG, we need to re-educate people of all ages, so we become more conscious of our experiences with the aim to break the cycles of intergenerational trauma while providing meaningful services to survivors we serve, as well as empowering young people to become beacons of the change.
Furthermore, I am a mother of two amazing young children who love the work I do and are already contributing to the work of our Solace’s Young Change Makers.
