#DoSomething this Christmas

Don’t wait until it’s too late. Do something this Christmas.

As we enter the festive season, we are excited by the thought of putting up decorations, getting cosy by the fire and spending time with loved ones. But many women this Christmas will be trapped, behind closed doors, with abusive partners.

Two women are killed every week by a partner (or ex-partner) in England and Wales alone. 1 in 7 children will experience domestic abuse. This Christmas, we’re asking everyone to #DoSomething to help end domestic abuse and support our life-saving services. A donation to Solace means we can reach more women who need us, supporting them into safe accommodation and providing vital therapeutic support to recover from their trauma.

‘Christmas is considered a time for family and celebration but for too many women and children it can be a time of fear and isolation. The focus of this campaign is on how too often we turn a blind eye to the violence that is around us. It’s easy to hope that someone else will do something, but to make a real change, to save lives and stop this epidemic of violence against women and girls, we all need to do something.’
