Could you volunteer some time to help ensure Solace runs effectively? Become a trustee and help make a positive contribution to rebuilding the lives of women and children across London.
Our board of Trustees make up the strategic management body of the organisation. We have 12 members who are all volunteers and generously donate their time, energy, guidance and expertise to help us keep the running of Solace on track, acting within its aims and ensuring we use our resources effectively.
Each trustee brings with them unique skills, perspectives and experiences that help inform decision making at the highest level. If you are passionate about ending violence against women and girls and can speak your mind, this could be the opportunity for you!
We are now opening up two trustee positions for recruitment, one of which is a Treasurer who ideally will have a financial background. All trustees receive full training on information and skills necessary to be successful in the role. Full information can be found here.
These are voluntary positions, but expenses for travel and childcare are reimbursed. You will be required for a minimum of 8 meetings and two away days per year.
We particularly welcome applications from BME women who are currently under-represented on the Board of Trustees.
In order to give you the opportunity to find out more about these exciting roles, the work Solace does and what the trustees do to support this, we are hosting an informal information evening on 24th June.
This is a great opportunity to meet some of our staff and existing trustees, whilst enjoying cheese, wine, non-alcoholic drinks and vegan snacks. The evening will run between 6.30pm and 8pm. If you would like to reserve your place, please RSVP here. Do let us know if you have access requirements and/or need a crèche for the evening. Please note that in order to register for the crèche service, you will need to let us know by 17th June.
If you have any further questions about the evening, or the role itself, please email [email protected].
Your life experience could make a difference to a life. Become a trustee.
