Solace Announcement: Interim Chief Executive moves on January 2023

We are proud to announce that Judith Banjoko, our Interim Chief Executive, has been appointed as the new Director of Services at Shelter and will be leaving Solace in January. Although the news is tinged with sadness for our organisation, we are delighted for Judith, knowing she is taking her skills and compassion into a new role where she can continue to make a difference. We wish her and Shelter every success.

The Board of Trustees recognise Solace and the staff team have been through a lot of change in the past 18 months and this signals another significant one. However, with nearly 300 staff and 100 volunteers, our charity is strong, founded on our feminism, our values and our shared motivation to support survivors.

The Board will commence the recruitment for our new Chief Executive shortly, and we will be seeking the support of our volunteers, staff, funders, partners and commissioners to amplify the search.

As we look to the future, we shall continue Judith’s progress towards our new organisational strategy and to deliver our equity, diversity and inclusion ambitions, while remaining rooted in our commitment to wellbeing and ending male violence against women and girls.
