Sorelle Peer Support Programme

Peer supporters are in a special position to use their personal experience to show you that you are not alone and that there is life after abuse. Their role with you could involve:

  • meeting with you for a coffee and a listening ear once a week
  • assisting you to go to that creative writing group you always wanted to go to
  • helping you to get involved with other agencies that can further support you
  • talking to you so that you don’t feel judged

Feeling like no-one understands what you’re going through can be tough. Our team of support volunteers have all been affected by domestic and/or sexual abuse and have experience of living with the aftermath so may understand what you are going through. They have all been specially trained to listen and offer support to you on a 1:1 basis for up to a year. They offer a non-judgemental and understanding space in order to help you find your power and your voice.
