About the Service

Islington Solace Advocacy and Support Service (SASS) is a team made up of IDVAs, caseworkers, Complex Needs worker and IRIS workers.  We work with all levels of risk and work closely with our partner agencies to ensure victim/survivors of domestic violence receive a good standard of service.


About the Role

As the duty worker you will act as the first point of contact for survivors and professionals contacting the busy Islington SASS service. Managing the duty inbox and phone line you will process new referrals and deal with enquiries from professionals and survivors. In addition, you will carry out risk assessments and safety planning with self-referrals to Islington SASS, ensuring survivors receive effective, timely advice before allocating their case for ongoing support.

About You

We're looking for highly organised and self-motivated applicants who are passionate about ending gender-based violence. You will have a “can-do‟ approach and demonstrable commitment to Solace’s feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer. Successful applicants will have a sound understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse, excellent organisational skills, and experience of providing telephone support to survivors of abuse or a similar client group.
