About the Role:

The role of a Senior IRIS Advocate Educator is to provide training to general medical practices, on-going support for health professionals and a proactive culturally sensitive and supportive service for women and girls who are experiencing domestic abuse.

The successful candidate will be responsible for risk and needs assessing and safety planning with survivors of domestic violence. They will hold a caseload of service users referred to the service via their GPs, providing advice, advocacy and onward referral where appropriate. In addition they will line manage the IRIS Advocate Educator, monitor service progress and prepare reports for funders.  Tower Hamlets IRIS is a new service, therefore an important initial part of your role will be implementation of the service, including building relationships with key professionals in the borough.

About You:

We're looking for highly organised and self-motivated applicants who are passionate about ending gender-based violence. You will have a “can-do approach and demonstrable commitment to Solace’s feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer. You will receive training and support for this role as necessary.

Successful applicants will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on service users and their children, experience of working with women who have experienced domestic and/or sexual abuse including strong casework management skills. First-hand experience of working in an IRIS service, line management, and/or implementation of new service provision would be highly beneficial.
