About the Service

The Specialist Domestic Abuse Children and Family Support Service is a new service aimed at enabling the voices of children and young people to be heard through active listening, reassurance, and trauma informed practice. The project will also support the mothers and their children to build healthy and positive relationships and recover together.     

About the Role

Develop and deliver a range of trauma informed services to children and young people (3-16 years), within the refuge
Help children and young people to feel safe and secure whist residing in refuge accommodation and provide therapeutic and recreational activities for the children and young people including play work.
About You
Relevant experience and of direct work with vulnerable children, Young People and/or Families who have experienced domestic abuse and provide the support to enable them to recover and rebuild their lives.

About You

Qualification in Social Care, Youth & Community work, or other relevant Qualification at NVQ level 3 and Higher (i.e. Early Years and Education, Play Work, Children and Young People)
First Aid/ Paediatric First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain this quickly)
Safeguarding Training
Experience of running mother and child recovery Programmes.
