Tribute to Dorothy Ugwu – Our Sister in Struggle

We are supporting Southall Black Sisters to raise funds for her funeral.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved service-user and SBS ambassador, Dorothy Ugwu. A loving and devoted friend to all, Dorothy touched the lives of many of our service-users and staff alike. We pay our tribute to a courageous and resilient woman whose fight for dignity and survival, inspires us to re-commit to our struggle against the unbearable cruelty of the UK’s immigration system to which she was subjected.

Dorothy Ugwu, aged 50 left us today. She finally lost her battle with cancer but not without first putting up a heroic and dignified fight.

Tribute to Dorothy Ugwu – Our Sister in Struggle

We are supporting Dorothy’s friends in the UK to raise funds for her funeral costs. Dorothy had no family in the UK. She was destitute because she was subject to No Recourse to Public Funds. Please help us to raise funds to cover the cost of her funeral. We need to raise £6k by 25/03/21 in order to be able to afford the funeral service. We are determined to raise this amount and to give her back her humanity and dignity so cruelly robbed off her by the government’s hostile immigration system.

All donations welcome
