The Casa Project
The Casa Project is a pan-London partnership within the London Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) Consortium, coordinated by Solace and funded by the Greater London Authority (GLA). The Casa Project provides move-on accommodation and support to women who have experienced domestic abuse. This project enables women to move-on from refuges to high quality, self-contained accommodation with affordable rents, provided by registered landlords, for up to 2 years.
Specialist resettlement support is provided throughout the tenancy by the following members of the London VAWG Consortium: Ashiana Network, EACH Counselling and Support, IKWRO Women’s Rights Organisation, Latin American Women’s Aid and The nia Project. This is in the form of visiting support to help women with practical tenancy sustainment, as well as ongoing support to cope, recover and move towards independence. The referral and allocations process is supported by the Clearing House, run by St. Mungo’s.
How to refer
The Casa Project is open to survivors of domestic abuse across London who are living in a refuge who need resettlement accommodation with ongoing support to live independently. Refuges that wish to refer should be a member of Women’s Aid or Imkaan and have attended the Clearing House referrers training session. Housing First
Housing First works with some of the most marginalised women in Westminster and Islington, who are experiencing multiple disadvantage, VAWG and (street) homelessness. The project assists them with accessing independent accommodation with holistic, long-term, intensive, trauma-informed support.
In Westminster we are pleased to work in partnership with Standing Together.
Housing First supports with improving safety, accessing long-term secure accommodation, access to legal services, finances and welfare benefits, emotional support, and practical support in accessing drug and alcohol services, mental and physical health services and re-integrating into the community.
How to refer
Due to the long-term nature of the support that we offer, vacancies come up infrequently so please check capacity before submitting a referral. Please contact swahousingfirst@solacewomensaid.org
The Amari Project
A second stage supported accommodation service for women who have been sexually exploited through trafficking or prostitution.
The Amari Project is an action learning project between Solace Women’s Aid and Commonweal Housing to provide quality housing and support to some of the most marginalised women in London.
How to refer
The Amari project accepts referrals from agencies and require consent from the woman who is willing to undergo a face-to-face assessment (Assessments will be over the phone until further notice). Please contact us via email to request a referral form amari@solacewomensaid.org
The Rhea Project
The Project is a partnership between Solace Women’s Aid, Southwark Council and Commonweal Housing, providing support in temporary accommodation to women and their children who have experienced homelessness as a result of domestic abuse (or other forms of violence against women and girls(VAWG) ). There are 8 self-contained family sized units located in Southwark, Lewisham and Greenwich.
How to refer
Referals into the Rhea Project are managed by Solace and Southwark Housing Solutions Service.
