The Dirty Water Podcast Series

Daddyless Daughters present – a new podcast ‘The Dirty Water’ series

The Dirty Water Series explores the patterns women and girls saw in their own households and the impact that had on them, in relationships, in life choices and how the legacy of childhood informs our lives.

These are radically honest and open one-to-one conversations, and Aliyah Ali digs deep into the lasting impact of childhood trauma and the ways they found to cope – from drug addiction, mental health issues and dangerous choices, as well as the addiction to drama that can be the result of a chaotic childhood.

They also talk about how they healed (or are healing), how they changed their stories and regained control of their narrative.

Solace are proud to have worked with Daddyless Daughters on this project, it’s new territory for Solace, but we believe both Aliyah and her podcasts raise very important issues for women and also reach many women that may want to engage with our services.

Aliyah is a trauma informed trainer, consultant, speaker and the founder of Daddyless Daughters Project CIC. Aliyah’s turbulent childhood and traumatic experiences led her to dedicating her career to vulnerable girls and women with complex needs who have been affected by family breakdown and are at high risk of being groomed and exploited both criminally and sexually.

This is an important partnership for Solace.  As a large women’s organisation we feel it is important to show our solidarity with new, exciting, up and coming young women’s organisations as they strive to have their own voice heard and do work in their own way.
