What does Solace mean to you?
A safe space for all women to be heard and seen. To heal and to be supported. To be listened to.
What motivated you to join the Shadow Board?
Having been through domestic and sexual abuse myself, and understanding the importance of charities supporting women through the abuse but also the aftermath, i wanted to give back. As a victim you have a unique perspective on life and the system that can only be understood through having ‘been there’. Now that i am in a better place i want to ensure that i help others. Those who had been before me, were my light, now i want to be someone elses.
What represents the moment you moved from “survivor to thriver”?
When i started using my voice. I turned my anger into action, and my campaign gained traction. Once i noticed people started listening, and i understood that what i went through wasn’t right AND i had the ability to make i change, i felt like i was worth something again.
