Solace in Waltham Forest (SASS)

Advocacy 

Our Advocacy team provides short to medium term support to people of any gender identity affected by domestic and sexual violence across all risk levels. We offer information, advocacy and specialist services to increase safety and meet a range of needs – these can include ongoing safety concerns, emotional or housing support, legal options, reporting to the police, help around child contact, benefits and financial advice.

Marketplace 

We provide access to a range of therapeutic support services via one referral route. It is made up of several approved providers and aims to help those affected by domestic abuse, sexual abuse and harmful practices to recover and continue with their lives. Services include counselling, group work and a range of creative therapies. In cases where these services are not suitable, we aim to support survivors to find an alternative.

IRIS

IRIS service provides support and ongoing training for health professionals in general practice on understanding and responding to domestic violence and abuse. Subsequently the IRIS AE will work with the patients being referred into the service by GPs and this includes carrying out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and support planning with survivors and advocate on their behalf with external agencies.
