Swim For Solace

There’s less than three weeks until our Swim For Solace challenge begins on 1st June!

Swim throughout June to help us raise funds and raise awareness of male violence against women. Whether it’s in your local lido or the crisp British sea, get swimming to support women.

Research has shown that on average, a woman is assaulted 35 times before the police are called. That’s 35 too many. Domestic abuse is a cycle of behaviour and a cycle of violence. The repetition of events only makes it harder for someone to leave, get the help they need and the support they deserve. This June, you can help us end this cycle.

Come and swim 35 times or 35 minutes or 35 lengths with us.

Services like ours are vital to ensure long-lasting support is offered to ensure women don’t experience abuse again. For Solace, this means being able to provide accommodation to those fleeing their home, therapeutic services to help overcome years of trauma, support navigating their legal and housing options and advocating for local and national change through the laws that should protect all women and girls.

Sign up early and you won’t miss out on our special swim pack:
A Solace Tote Bag
A limited edition swim cap made in collaboration with Usual Objections
Solace carry cup – with a unique watery design by a child in one of our refuges

But hurry, these are limited so sign up now to avoid disappointment! Click below to sign up.

Volunteers needed for our Luce Project

We’re looking for female, blind or partially sighted volunteers to help support our advice line which sits within our therapeutic services team, where they will support women and girls by providing advice, information and signposting around housing, legal remedies, and safety planning.

Volunteers will gain access to a comprehensive training programme around domestic and sexual abuse and a structured learning path tailored to each volunteer’s interests and professional goals. They will also receive mentoring and a range of employment readiness opportunities for those interested. This might be an especially exciting opportunity for anyone who is interested in growing their knowledge about domestic and sexual abuse and working in the women’s sector.
